THREE ICED COFFEE RECIPES
By Tyler Workman
Our KAHA Iced Coffee Blend has been flying off the shelves this summer! We recently conducted a home brewing demo and coffee tasting at Cider Hill Farm and our iced coffee and Drip Coffee Machine demo and recipe were a hit!
Our philosophy when brewing iced coffee is start at a concentrate, flash chill the coffee with ice immediately which still results in a bit of a concentrate, then serve the chilled coffee over ice to dilute it further just slightly.
We recommend experimenting with ice amounts to get the coffee as strong as you like. These recipes gave us the most brightness and complexity which is what we love for this coffee as an iced coffee.
Below are three of our favorite recipes for our KAHA Iced Coffee Blend.

KAHA Iced Coffee Drip Coffee Machine (Flash Chilled Iced Coffee):
- 1:10 ratio (1 part ground coffee to 10 parts water)
- 58 grams coffee
- 614 ml water (this is 4 cups water on OXO brand drip coffee machine)
- Medium grind (drip grind size) setting 12 on Baratza Encore grinder
- After brewing, add 150 grams ice to the coffee pot/carafe to flash chill
For this recipe we used a OXO brand drip coffee machine, but the 1:10 ratio will work for any drip coffee machine. This recipe is brewed at a concentrate then flash chilled with the 150 grams of ice to preserve the brightness, acidity, and complexity of the coffee while cooling it down. After the ice melts the coffee is still at a slight concentrate so it can be served over ice and slightly diluted further. This iced coffee recipe will keep fresh while refrigerated for 5 days in our experience. Once people have used this recipe to make iced coffee at home using a drip coffee machine, it is life changing for some of our customers since you can enjoy multiple cups of iced coffee! We hope you enjoy this recipe!

KAHA Iced Coffee Aeoropress Recipe (Flash Chilled Iced Coffee):
- 1:10 ratio (1 part ground coffee to 10 parts water)
- 20 grams coffee
- 200 ml water
- 92 g ice (for flash chilling) in the mug/carafe you are brewing into
- 200 F degree water temperature
- Medium grind (drip grind size) setting 12 on Baratza Encore grinder
- Stir with stir stick while pouring water to agitate the grounds
- Let steep for 40 seconds, then plunge onto ice until hissing sound
- Swirl coffee and ice around to flash chill, ice will melt
- Add an additional 50 g ice and enjoy the coffee iced
This is our favorite flash chilled iced coffee recipe for the KAHA Iced Coffee Blend . We love this brew method for its speed and convenience to produce an amazing iced coffee that is so refreshing!
KAHA Iced Coffee Clever Brewer Recipe (Flash Chilled Iced Coffee):
- 1:10 ratio (1 part ground coffee to 10 parts water)
- 20 grams coffee
- 200 ml water
- 92 g ice (for flash chilling) in the mug/carafe you are brewing into
- 200 F degree water temperature
- Medium grind (drip grind size) setting 12 on Baratza Encore grinder
- Let steep for 2:30 seconds
- Place Clever Brewer on mug to begin draining/draw down over ice in the mug
- Add an additional 50 g ice and enjoy the coffee iced
This Clever Brewer recipe is similar to the Aeropress recipe, only with a longer steep time for the Clever Brewer. This results in a bright cup with complexity for an iced coffee. We love this brew method for its ease of use since you do not need as much technique as a pour over to achieve a great cup of iced coffee.
We hope you enjoy these recipes for our KAHA Iced Coffee Blend! We also recommend further experimenting with different ratios of coffee and water, different temperatures, different grind sizes, and different brew methods to get the coffee exactly how you want it since coffee is very subjective. Enjoy! ☕
