As part of our quest to continuously improve our coffee lineup, we received requests for a great iced coffee blend that was elevated from other iced coffees on the market. In speaking with many of our customers about iced coffee, and the characteristics they were looking for, we rolled up our sleeves and went to work testing a number of coffees from different origins.
What we were extremely happy with after testing is a Colombian origin coffee roasted to a medium roast level profile. This satisfied the characteristics of what the iced coffee drinkers we spoke to were looking for: something not too dark, not too strong, but also not too light or too bright with acidity. The coffee also had to do well with cream and sugar as well as on it's own.
We've tested this coffee against other iced coffees, and we can confidently say that the roast profile we developed for this iced coffee is something we are extremely proud of!
When crafting this roast profile, we approached it with the following goals in mind
• A balanced profile including sweetness, richness, brightness,
• A profile of flavors including berries and brown sugar
• A five dimensional profile of: sweetness, fruit, depth, medium acidity, balance
• A coffee able to shine on it's own, as well as with cream & sugar
